flatslide problem

Beitrag von AJS »

who can help me
after cleaning and synchronizing a little problem developed in my flatslide carburetor.
after opening the throttle full while riding and closing so I'll ride at a constant speed. sometimes it's not possible to give full throttle again. it will stop at half throttle.
after a while cruising, say a few minutes, it's possible again.

what can this be.???

You mean that you cannot open full sometimes ... I think this comes from the adjust screws for synchrosizing. The adjust-screws touch the body of the carburetors inside ... perhaps you open the caburetors above and have a look at this ...

With a little bit luck is this your Problem ...

Hi,
Don´t know, if you have also the enrichener solenoid for the flats?
(I have the ZX7 with flats). If this is not connected, the accelerator pumps will not inject additional fuel- no acceleration at all.
Please comment. There is also a good forum under
http://www.redmonkey.com/7r/

hi winni, if you had normal carbs installed, i would suppose, a pressure-referenz-line between airbox and carbs is not installed correctly. I'm just riding the "normal" CVK-carburetors, so i don't really know much about the flatslide-carburetors.

Ich hatte ihn so verstanden ,daß manchmal das Gas klemmt und er dann nicht richtig öffnen kann (was ein rein mechanisches Problem darstellen würde) ... oder er hat ein Gemischproblem ... (???)

Was meint er denn etz genau :?: smile ...
Ich glaub ,die Flachis machen die Kraftstoffumschaltung gesteuert durch die CDI (Magnetventil) bei ca. 4000 1/min ... dann wird mehr Sprit benötigt.

it's obviously a mechanical problem and i think it will be the adjusterscrews.
hopefullly.!!!!
strange enough it's not a constant problem.

i'll check and let you know

thanks for all the advises you have given

@winni: so, just to be sure, we're talking about the same proplem: the "throttle-cables" are not jammed? the engine sometimes gives not the power you expect with open sliders- >right?
first thing would be a "simple" blockage somewhere, second thing is probably a fuel/air-mixture proplem or anything which has a influence on it.

sorry for the worse english, i just had a D and that's 8years ago

I just checked and the problem is when you ride on the freeway after a while when you want to give full throttle you can turn it only half.
strange.
can't find a problem in the cables so I think the adjusterscrews wil be the problem???
something like : the ramair system pushes agains the flatslides and the get in an angle so that the screws touch the covers.

i'm sure, the ram-air-effect isn't that strong. i first thought you had a fuel-mixture-proplem

proplem solving without seen or touching the bike in a foreign language is allways a little difficult. maybe you have to check the carbs an the carb-linkage again.

good luck

i know it is difficult.
thank you for helping with the thinking.
the problem is mechanical!!!!!!
but what is it ???
now i have to studie for my exams but over 2 weeks we will find out what it is

Hi
May be there is an adjusting screw of the carbs inside loose or turned out a little bit.
Ciao Winni

that's what i think.
i know they are not loose, but i haven't checked if they are too far out

....u need to turn the screws for synchronisation a little bit more in, maybe its just one....but this is definitly your problem and dont wait 2 long because u can damage the very tiny srecws and your flatside chassis....

I've synchronized the carbs again and it runs perfect.
problem solved. one of the adjuster screws was loose.
only problem now is that it idle speed is not as smooth as it was. but it is not bad.
and it runs perfect. more power when opening the throttle.
thanks for the good advise
